The Waiʻalae Nui/Kahala/ʻĀinahaina CommunityHere's an interactive map that shows the great places that have a positive influence on our students, including Kaimuki/Waialae YMCA, Wesley United Methodist Church, Kahala Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Kahala Mall. Explore the other stores and places that are nearby! I used the statistics from the 2013-2014 School Status and Improvement Report to learn more about the surrounding community. Thanks to my Research Methods professor at Emerson College and founder of Kimball Political Consulting, going through this data was quite fascinating to me! Mahalo nui e Spencer Kimball, you did good. "Educational attainment refers to the highest level of education that an individual has completed" (http://www.census.gov/hhes/socdemo/education/). I'm pretty sure this is why the State of Hawaii percentage is greater than the school community percentage for the other attainment levels. More than half of the school community has graduated from college. It would've been interesting if the data further showed the specific level that was achieved (bachelor/masters/doctorate).
